In this article, we will take a look at how to build a comfy pallet patio by repurposing used wooden pallets.

Level the Area

To begin with, building on a lot may be possible, but it could make the process quite difficult. For this particular project, the ground was fairly flat, but the areas without soil had to be filled in. Try using a shovel, garden rake, or whatever program you have to do the work to level some low and high spots. You may need to bring in some sand or soil to fill in some areas, and use the shovel for other spots. After you’ve leveled the area to a patio, compact the loose soil and get ready for step 2.

Select the Best Pallets for the Foundation

Now that we have obtained a flat website, it is extremely important to choose the best replicas on a wonderful base. Decide on your backyard’s shape and size—select pallets based on the size that will best accomplish the shape you want. As you can see, I added a cutout area for my fire pit. Be creative.

When choosing pallets for your base, you must decide on the best and most effective replicas, and be sure to select pallets that are the same specific height.  There are standards in pallet construction, but there are also many variations. Break Apart the Pallets

Today it’s time to take apart the other pallets and pick out the boards we’ll use for the actual floor. I think part of the beauty is in the many variations in color and texture of these boards. Again, if you choose boards of the same thickness, you will get the thinnest and smoothest patio surface. I have tried several methods to achieve this. Some replicas seem to unravel with a few hammer blows and crowbars, while others seem to me to be fixed forever. When I rushed to do the latter, I simply took my chainsaw and cut the outside rails. Then I pushed the boards out of what was left of the center skid and worked with the hammer and crowbar.

Lay Out the Pattern and Install the Boards

Now that we have a great selection of boards of different lengths and colors, it’s time to start laying out the pattern. I suggest using the 45° style because it provides the perfect amount of force when hitting the other boards. You can win with a table saw or circular saw to give each board a great square finish and to eliminate any split pieces. We’ll cut it to fit nicely later with the power saw.

Add Finishing

You can try to block each board against the other before repainting. Continue this process until you are using a straight edge and the strength you notice, trim the excess at the edges so you have a flawless look. Extend and complicate this particular effort as you wish. Use compost or stone around the bottom to make it look complete. Then, add patio furniture. Enjoy.…
